BUILD THE RETRIEVE THROUGH OBEDIENCE, RELATIONSHIP, AND COMMUNICATION.
Obedience comes first.
We establish the Big 5: Here, Heel, Sit, Stay, and Place while introducing whistle communication and developing the basic retrieve and return to hand through structured food drills.
From there, we introduce bumpers then birds. Next, gunfire is carefully introduced to help your dog build confidence around loud sounds before increasing the demands of the field.
Water work becomes a major focus as we develop a dog that is confident and capable in the environments waterfowl hunting demands.
HOLD CONDITIONING & TRAINED RETRIEVE
Hold conditioning and a formal trained retrieve are not automatically included in every program.
These skills are implemented on an as-needed basis, determined by the trainer's evaluation of the individual dog, it’s existing retrieve, and owner goals.
